The draft is now released for public comments. On June 21, 2019, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) issued a notice on supplementing and improving the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances (IECSC). For those enterprises that have substances manufactured in or imported into China before Oct 15th, 2003, it is a great opportunity to apply for the IESCS supplementation. The window for applying for the addition of chemical substances to the IECSC will only open for three months, and the application should be submitted before September 30, 2019. This webinar will provide an overview on the IECSC supplementation, and help enterprise to better understand its role and obligations under IECSC, and to get prepared for applying for the addition into IECSC.

Introduction of Chemical Management in Canada

The Canadian Environmental Protection Act 1999 (CEPA 1999) is the most important chemical control law in Canada. It is a broad act covering the management of new chemical substances and existing chemicals in Canada. Under CEPA, new substances that not listed on Canada DSL need to be notified before manufacturing or importing while the risk of existing substances are controlled by series of regulatory lists. Besides CEPA, Canada's requirements for workplace chemicals will be updated as the GHS, incorporated into WHMIS which is regarded as the national hazard communication system.

This webinar will help enterprise to better understand the management of chemical substances based on these Regulations, and to get fully prepared before entering Canadian market.

Introduction and Analysis of China's Chemical Management Trends

On January 8, 2019, China Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) published the draft Regulations on Chemical Substances Environmental Risk Assessment and Control for public comments. The draft New Regulation intends to govern the environmental risk assessment and control of any chemical substance. It is the very first piece of chemical control legislation proposed by the MEE. In addition, the draft New Regulation reveals several key changes which might be brought into China new substances management regime. Therefore, any company that is manufacturing, processing and using, importing and exporting chemicals in and from China will be influenced by the draft New Regulation in the future.

This webinar will help enterprise to better understand the risk assessment and risk management of chemical substances to be established based on this Regulation, and to get fully prepared for taking effective measures to prevent and control chemical substances such as PBT or vPvB chemicals.
