33 Important China National Standards (GB standards) have been approved by China Standardization Administration

14th October is regarded as the World Standard Day and its theme this year is that ‘standards forge a fair competent environment’. Before that day, the standardization administration of China (SAC) approved 33 important national standards on 10th October 2014. Healthy security, ecosystem and environment, economic development and social management are all involved in these standards.

In terms of ecosystem and environment which we may be concerned most, a series of standards from the Testing Criteria for Safety Evaluation of Chemicals and Pesticide put an aim to further improve China scientific level on environment risk evaluation and safety management of pesticide. Through these approaches, potential harm that brought about by pesticide to environment is expected to eradicate from source.

These national standards, approved this time, are well reflecting the effect of the theme ‘standards forge a fair competent environment and make unified marketing rules’ and will definitely have positive and active influence on China relevant industries.

Who is SAC?

Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China (SAC) was established in April 2001 and authorized by the State Council to exercise administrative responsibilities by undertaking unified management, supervision and overall coordination of standardization works in China.

SAC represents China to join the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and other international and regional standardization organizations; SAC is responsible for organizing the activities of Chinese National Committee for ISO and IEC; SAC approves and organizes the implementation of international cooperation and exchanging projects on standardization.
