On June 21, 2019, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) issued a notice on supplementing and improving the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances (IECSC). For those enterprises that have substances manufactured in or imported into China before Oct 15th, 2003, it is a great opportunity to apply for the IESCS supplementation. The window for applying for the addition of chemical substances to the IECSC will only open for three months, and the application should be submitted before September 30, 2019. This webinar will provide an overview on the IECSC supplementation, and help enterprise to better understand its role and obligations under IECSC, and to get prepared for applying for the addition into IECSC.

How to Apply for New Food Contact Substance Notification in China (China FCN)

In accordance with article 37 of Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China Article, companies who plan to use or manufacture new food raw materials, new food additives and new food-related products in China, must apply for and obtain a hygiene license from National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China (former NHFPC). The application of new food contact substances (FCN) shall be carried out in accordance with the regulations of new food-related products.

The Canadian Environmental Protection Act 1999 (CEPA 1999) is the most important chemical control law in Canada. It is a broad act covering the management of new chemical substances and existing chemicals in Canada. Under CEPA, new substances that not listed on Canada DSL need to be notified before manufacturing or importing while the risk of existing substances are controlled by series of regulatory lists. Besides CEPA, Canada's requirements for workplace chemicals will be updated as the GHS, incorporated into WHMIS which is regarded as the national hazard communication system.

What is China Food Contact Positive List and How to Use the Positive List
