Bisphenol A (BPA) Testing

Bisphenol A is 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propane, or BPA in short. The substance is mainly used as one important raw material for the synthesis of epoxy resin, polycarbonate, polysulfone, aromatic polyester, phenolic resin, unsaturated polyester resin and flame retardant, etc. In addition, it is occasionally used as rubber aging inhibitor.

It is reported that Bisphenol A is an endocrine disrupter, which can mimic the body's own hormones and may lead to negative health effect.

US, EU, Canada and Norway have banned the use of BPA as shown in the following table:
